As we reported in June, Nomura Research Institute is holding a hackathon at CREATEC JAPAN2015 (CREATEC is an Acronym for Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) on October 6-7th. This hackathon will target to create and find unique ideas and technologies related to money and Internet Of Things fields.

To take part in the hackathon, applicants need to get through the qualifying round “ideathon”. The ideathon was just held on September 12 and 13 in Osaka and Tokyo.

Nomura Research Institute announced that 9 teams were selected as finalists for the hackathon. The finalists are Money Smart, keel, Nandeyanenbot, Ahato Gelt from Osaka, and UTJ All Starts, T-SHOCK, mushroom, patronia, UniX from Tokyo. They will compete at the hackathon next month for invitation to International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (International CES 2016) held in Las Vegas in January 2016. Winner team will be able to join the CES tour and exhibit their products at the CES.

The international CES is the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies and held in Las Vegas every year. According to CES website, this year’s CES was record breaking with more than 170,000 attendees, 3,631 exhibiting companies, 1,809 government professionals, 48,616 senior-level executives, and 153 countries represented. It must be honor for innovators to join the event where world-breakthrough technologies gather from across the world.
