GMO Internet Group online payment service provider, GMO Payment Gateway announced that the company will supply OEM its product “GMO Pallet”, a smartphone payments service, to HOKKOKU Bank which is a leading regional financial institution centered in Ishikawa prefecture, on the Sea of Japan coast in central Honshu, Japan's main island.
Along with the launch of “HOKKOKU Bank Visa debit card” on April 1, 2016, the bank will also plan to provide a smartphone app called “HOKKOKU wallet app” to strengthen relationship with local residents and stores. GMO Payment Gateway will develop this app based on the GMO Pallet. The app allows users to manage shop points, receive coupons from shops, and view their account balance.
Through this OEM supply, the FinTech company will support regional activation that the company has been promoting. Starting with HOKKOKU Bank, the company aims to expand the OEM supply business to various industries such as finance, real-estate, and insurance.
