MasterCard announced that the company launched MasterCard Start Path Global. The MasterCard Start Path Global is a partnership model for startups to connect with global enterprises. In the initial members of the program, who are selected from over 200 startups in the world, Japanese FinTech firm, Moneytree was selected.

During the 6-months program, they can receive advice from MasterCard experts and introduce MasterCard solutions. In addition, they can contact with about 40 startups which have already learned from the Start Path.

Over 200 firms applied to the first program of the MasterCard Start Path Global. The selected members consist of a wide variety of startups from all over the world. They will work on developing digital relationship, promoting consumption behavior and streamlining complicated operations by utilizing big data, and mobile and cloud based applications.

Stephane Wyper, global head of MasterCard Start Path, commented in the announcement he found FinTech firms need support on global scale for further development. To prevent innovative startups from withdrawing from the market, it’s necessary to give them opportunities to tap new markets, and MasterCard Start Path is a global program that can deliver the opportunities, he said.

Paul Chapman, CEO of the selected Japanese FinTech company, Moneytree, said, he is excited to be involved in the program, approach new markets with Start Path Global team and further develop Moneytree’s solution while Moneytree is expanding its business.

The first members include Control, Moneytree, Rainbird, VATBox.
