SBI Holding’s SBI Investment announced that the venture capital fund operator will invest into Omise Holdings Pte., Ltd., a Singapore-headquartered settlement service provider, through SBI Investment’s multiple funds including FinTech Fund which was created in last December.
Omise provides payment service such as credit cards in Sautheast Asia and Japan. The company was established in June, 2013 in Thailand to achieve a mission of “Online Payment for Everyone”. While Omise operates its business mainly in Thailand, it has started to provide its service in June, 2016 in Japan, and plans to expand to Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
The procurement funds will be used for building business of Omise’s settlement service “Omise Payment” in Japan and Souteastern Asia, development of new products and personnel acquisition.
SBI Investment continues to invest into promising FinTech ventures and support open innovation created by the investors and the investment destinations.
