AOL Online Japan will hold an annual event, TechCrunch Tokyo 2015 (#tctokyo) next week, on November 17 and 18. One of the AOL Online Japan’s brands is a technology-focused portal “TechCrunch Japan”, delivering in-depth profiling startups, reviewing new internet products and breaking tech news.
TechCrunch Tokyo 2015 consists of keynote sessions, fireside chats, panel discussion, startup battle, CTO Night and exhibition. From financial industry, Mr. Oki Matsumoto, CEO of Monex Group, will participate one of the keynote sessions, and talk about the reasons he founded his company. CTO Night will have a pitch contest to select CTO of the year, where 8 CTO will compete in their uniqueness, innovation spirit, power of influence on the industry, and organizational operation. The exhibition area will be filled with only startups who were established within 3 years.
Along with TechCrunch Tokyo 2015, TechCrunch Tokyo Hackathon 2015 will also be held on November 14 and 15.
The startup battle last year was a huge success as the floor was filled with excitement from over 800 visitors who wanted to find the innovative products and services. TechCrunch expects to see more visitors at the battlefeild this year. The winner will receive a cash prize of 1 million JPY. Among more than 100 entries, following 12 startup teams are eligible to compete in demonstrating their products at the startup battle this year ; SmartHR, Popcorn, One Tap BUY, CasterBiz, SHELFY, TANREN, WATCHA, WealthNavi, BONX, SHOPCOUNTER, mijin, VIDEO TAP.
