Thomson Reuters Markets established “FinTech Ecosystem Laboratory” with its central office located at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting. This FinTech Laboratory aims to discusss how to develop FinTech ecosystem as a foundation for the financial industry, and measures that the Japanese financial industry need to take, with FinTech-related players.

As services provided by Fintech ventures has been expanded in Europe, the Unites States and some parts of Asia, financial services has been diversified and significantly improved the convenience. Behind this background of development of FinTech, there is a collective economy “ecosystem” among entrepreneurs, financial institutions, venture capitals, and other related palyers. Therefore, Thomson Reuters and Deloitte Tohmatsu will discuss and figure out measures to develop the Fintech ecosystem which is better suited for Japanese financial economic environment and the users.

So far, participant companies/organizations of the FinTech Ecosystem Laboratory include; SBI Securieis, SBI Graduate School, Money Design, Orix, Shizuoka Bank, Tokyu Land, the Bank of Japan, Nomura Holdings, bitFlyer, Venture Labo, Money Forward, Sumitomo Mitsui Card, Metaps, and Risona Bank.

The first meeting was held on March 28, 2016, and Reuters discloses its report on the website.
