mizuho-bank-logoMizuho Bank today signed a memorandum of understanding for business cooperation with Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd (CPG) in relation to supporting Japanese companies to expand their business overseas in alliance with CPG’s network in Asian region. This is the first time that CPG has entered such a memorandum with a Japanese bank.

Since its inception in 1920’s in Thai where is a key strategic location for core manufacturing and group sales companies in the Greater Mekong Subregion, CPG has become the one of the major leading conglomerate in Asia. The Group started its business and developed manufacturing and processing of feed, livestock business and food processing, establishing an integrated structure in agricultural business. In 1990’s, the group had expanded its business with diversification of its business portfolio into retail and telecommunication business. In 1970’s, CPG, as one of the first foreign enterprises to invest in China, has developed manufacturing and processing of feed, livestock business, food processing and retail business in China and has been expanding their business globally not only in Thailand and China, up to now.

Mizuho Bank will take advantage of this memorandum by strengthening the relationship with CPG by supporting their business expansion globally mainly in agriculture, retail and telecommunication business. The bank will also not only support Japanese companies who have high level of techniques , know-how and strategy to expand business overseas by introducing to CPG who has strong network in Thailand and China, but also contribute to development of Japanese, Thai and Chinese economy.
