The Financial Futures Association of Japan (FFAJ) published the monthly retail OTC binary options report for July, 2016.

The total volume of OTC binary option trading for the month grew to 44.6 billion JPY, increased by 8.6% from the previous month but decreased by 8.5% from the same month last year.

The number of existing accounts at the end of the month was 348,508, of which 11,873 were active accounts. The existing accounts slightly incrased by 0.6%, however the active account shows downtrend in its number as you see the following graph.

During July, GBP/JPY pair, which had the biggest increase (+156%) in June affected by the result of the Brexit referendum, increased by only 2% to 11,808,552,000 JPY but still well above yearly average of 9,082,948,714 JPY.

The most traded currency pair, USD/JPY trading volume reached 18,044,083,000 JPY with the increase of 26.4% Month-over-Month. It accounted for 40.5%, recaptured the share among all trading pairs.
