The Commodity Futures Association of Japan disclosed OTC commodity CFD trading volume in October. The figures are based on data submitted by the member companies.
The total number of funded accounts at the end of October was 5,066, decreased by 1.44% from September. The ending customer margin balance in October was 4,164 million JPY, slightly up by 3% from the previous month.
The total number of contracts was 17,557,750 consisting of 10,363,235 of energy, 6,796,162 of precious metal, and 398,353 of agricultural products, which corresponds to a drop of -16% from 21,069,908 in September.
The Association saw the total trading value came in at 569,568 million JPY during October, declined by 15% from 673,262 million JPY in the previous month. The most traded product was Energy with 472,306 million JPY while it decreased by 21.8%. Both Precious Metal and Agricultural Products grew by 43.8% and 11.9% respectively month-over-month.
