A Japanese FinTech Venture, Finatext and Rakuten Securities jointly held a special lesson at private high school, Kumon Kokusai Gakuen on February 19, 2016.

Finatext and Rakuten Securities have cooperated to manage stock community app for smartphone called “Asukabu” since the end of 2014. Asukabu collects the largest number of forecast of stock price in Japan as of February 24, 2016 and also becomes the largest Japanese stock apps in terms of active users. The special lesson was held with a purpose of inducing interest in money before the launch of Junior NISA (a tax exemption program for people under age of 20) in April this year.

The lesson targeted for 80 freshmen in the high school and they learned structure of stocks and career options.

The lesson achieved a great success as the companies received positive feedback from the students after the lesson such as “it was great opportunity to lean stocks because there was no chance to do it” and “I want to learn more advanced information about stock so I will buy some books”

Finatext and Rakuten Securities plan to create more opportunities which junior and high school students can take financial education through various programs.
